Banksy's Grafitti Art

The Bubble Artist

The Bubble Artist

Hidden behind scaffolding for eleven years, this Banksy graffiti depicts an artist (possibly Diego Velazquez?) working against an easel writing “Banksy” in large red, bubble letters.

Obscured by scaffolding on the corner of Acklam and Portobello Road since 2008 it only recently came to light after redevelopment works on the building were completed.  Later versions of this graffiti included a golden Ball and Chain manacled to the artist’s leg. The Golden Ball also features a dollar sign, which says something about the torture Banksy endures when painting for profit. Yeah… right.
